8 months!!!!!

J is 8 months old and getting more fun everyday.
Right now his schedule is pretty much the same as it was at 7 months.
Here is what he is up to:
Loves books (he literally laughs every time I read him a story)
Loves jumping and kicking still
Enjoys music
Scooting and rocking
Log rolls to get to things
Babbling a ton of different sounds (no ma-ma's just da-da though) :(
Laughs a lot.
Really seems into bright things. Especially the iPhone (gee, I wonder where he gets that from)
Likes to feed himself puffs!
Tried to give him some thicker stage 3 foods. He was not quite ready.
Plan on trying finger foods and more at 9-10 months. Excited to see what he likes!

Swinging on My 8th Month B-day!
Lunching With Friends, Johnny and Lainy!
Loves His Jumper!!
Jackson the Snowman!

Thankful

Jackson spent his first Thanksgiving in South Carolina. We were so thrilled he was surrounded by lots of love and family. He was not feeling like his usual self. Unfortunatley, he had a bad cold and was teething the entire time we were there. So we tried to soothe him with lots of walks on the beach and rocking on the porch. He loves the sound of the ocean. The only time he would take a solid nap on the trip was when we rocked him on the back porch. He enjoyed the breeze and the waves seemed to really relax him. He is quite the "drama king" when he get sick. I guess a lot of boys are like that. :)
Nontheless, we enjoyed giving him "extra" love while he was under the weather and I know he loved being with everyone. Hopefully he will stay healthy and happy for awhile now.
We are beyond thankful for all our blessings! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!!

Grandmommie and Papa Kirk with Jackson
Ready to eat some solids, like everybody else

7 months old!

It is so unbelievable to me that Jackson entered this world 7 months ago! We are so in love, and it just keeps getting better. He is so fun and truly the light of our lives.
Jackson Kyle turned 7 months on November 4, 2011!!!!!
Right now he is:
-Sitting up
- Laughs a lot
-Excitable
- Rolling
- Wants to crawl. He is scooting, but doesn't quite have it down yet.
-We noticed his first two bottom teeth are in on November 10, 2011.
-Drinks 5 bottles a day and eats solids 3 times a day still.
-Sleeps well. Although we have reverted back to the dream feeding, we find if we don't he is up much earlier. So he usually has his last feeding between 9:30-10:30. He still stays asleep, so it's not too bad!
-Loves toys and still wants to put pretty much anything he can in his mouth.
- Likes playing with toys in the bath tub now.
- Enjoys his jumper!

Thanks for checking in. Hope everyone is having a great Fall!

Halloween 2011

I am so behind that I am going to let the pics show you how much fun we had this Halloween!
Since Jackson is so enamored with our puppy dogs we decided he should be one for Halloween. He made a cute one, but wasn't too crazy about the ears. LOL. Anyways, I hosted a little Halloween party for some friends and their babies and we had a great time seeing them in their costumes.
Enjoy the pics of our little puppy dog!

Pumpkin Patch Fun!!

This past Sunday headed to the Pumpkin patch with our friends Jackie and Brian and Jackson's friend Nate.
Our 1st trip with some of our other dear friends was fun but the weather wasn't grand and Jackson had a cold so we decided to head back and we had a great time. Enjoy the pics! Nate and Jackson were so funny! My fav picture is the one of them staring at the tractor as it pulled up behind them. Too cute!!

6 months old already!

Well J has just turned 6 months. Seriously, I know a lot of moms say this, but I just cannot believe how old he is! To think he has a already had his 1/2 birthday is crazy.
So here are some updates on my 6 month old love.

He is currently rolling and flipping all over the place. I left him for 1 minute came back and he was off his play mat and had rolled all the way nearly underneath the couch! Scared me to death. However, I suppose this is the mobility everyone has been talking about.

He has been waking up at 5:30 (which is when he would kick me every morning when I was pregnant) praying this is just a phase!!!!!

Eating lots of fruits and veggies. My doctor gave me the go ahead to introduce meats so I think we are going to be doing that soon.

Kicks his legs like crazy still.

Almost sitting up but tomples over after about 20 seconds. His head is in the 80% percentile.

Smiles and laughs!

Still loves bath time(especially kicking in the bathtub)

Reaches for toys

Wants to chew on everything

Cries when Max (our golden retriever) doesn't pay him attention.

Seems to really love music (Smiles and seems to calm him)

Eddie loves to hold his stuffed soccer ball up so he can kick it and he actually kicks it quite well. Eddie is pretty thrilled!

His 6 month check up went great.

He weighs 16lbs 4 ounces 30% percentile

Height 27 inches 75% percentile

Head 44 1/2cm 80% percentile

So for we are loving are angel and just so thakful he is healthy and happy! Sure seems like he is going to be long and lean!

Thanks for checking in!

Fall Fun!

Fall is probably my favorite time of year. Spring is a close second, but there is something special I have always loved about Fall. There is a crispness in the air and I love seeing pumpkins on porches, watching some football, tailgating, fall candles, wearing leggings, eating chili, and sipping on apple cider! Normally this time of year I would be teaching my kindergarteners about apples and leaves. We would be going on leaf hunts and making applesauce and doing all sorts of fun stuff. I must say I am reminiscent of these times and look forward to doing these things with Jackson. For now, Jackson and I have been having lots of Fall fun! We have been hanging out with friends at the park and Jackson even went swinging. He loved it! Of course, he loves anything that moves or rocks.
We have also had lots of visitors. Gigi and Pop-Pop (my parents) came for a a visit. They can't believe how long Jackson is. He is still not a huge baby, but everyone thinks he is going to be long and lean at this point! They had a great time and were so helpful as always! Our next visitors, were our good friends Paige and Josh. Paige was my college roomate and I love that when we get together it feels like we hang out all the time. We all went to dinner and loved catching up!!
Anyways, it's been mostly fun for the Morgan household. The only downside is Jackson has his first cold and it has now been going on for nearly 10 days. We have had a couple rough nights, but on the whole Jackson acts like he feels fine, just congested, so we are hoping he is on the tail end of it. We are headed to the pedatrician tomorrow so we will see I suppose.
Thanks for checking in! Hope everyone is enjoying the start of Fall!

Lots of Love!

Jackson's 5 month updates!

Going to keep this post short and sweet. Jackson turned 5 months on September 4, 2011. He now is doing so many fun things and his little personality is starting to show through more and more. He was also baptised on Sunday. It was a great day for our family. We are thrilled our little angel has now recived his 1st sacrament. He also got to carry out a special tradition. He wore a 52 year old baptismal gown wore by Eddie and his gradmother, Eddie's mom. Eddie's cousins and some other relatives have also worn the gown. The gown was exquiste, especially for it's age. I cannt believe how well it has held up. I just love tradition, and so glad Jackson could share in it! Ejnoy the pics and updates!

At 5 months Jackson is:

Rolling from his stomach to his back and vice versa

Cooing and "talking"

squeals really loud

sleeps from 8:30pm-7:30 (We "dream feed" him at 10:30 usually)

smiles and laughs

Plays and sits in his exersaucer

eating a pretty good variety of veggies and fruits

loving apples, squash, sweet potatos, and bananas

still loves the water (during the baptism Jackson actually quit crying when the water went over his head)

Looks for mommy and daddy when we leave a room!

SC trip and lots more!

Wow, I guess the saying is true, "Time flies when your having fun!"
Because that is exactly what we have been doing- having lots of fun and time has sure gone by faster than ever. I cannot believe summer is coming to an end soon!
Anyways, our most recent adventure has been our trip to South Carolina. Jackson had quite the time. He had is vey own "Sip and See". For those of you who may not be familiar this is a shower where people can meet your baby and sip cocktails while they do it. So hence the name, "Sip and See!" My mother in law was so sweet to host one for me! About 25 women came to meet Jackson in South Carolina and boy did he get passed around. I was a little worried how he would react to all the attention, but he did great and people showered him with such beautiful things. It was real treat, and really a neat expierence. I think I would definitley have to reccomend it to all my preggo friends!
After the shower, we had some down time and Jackson got to go in the pool for the very first time! Once again, I was a nervous first time momma and wasn't sure how he would feel about it, but he loved it and did great. He even kicked his legs around a little!
After spending some time at Eddie's parents we headed to the beach and Jackson got to meet a lot of special people. He met both his great grandfather (Papa Ed) and his great granmother (Pat) as well as Eddie's aunts uncles, and cousins. He really loved everyone, and it was a special time since we don't get to see Eddie's whole family often! What made it even more cool was Jackson was turning 4 months old on the day they met him!
Speaking of Jackson turning 4 months, he had his 4 month check up and he weighed 14 pounds 2 ounces and was 25 inches long. No question this baby is eating good, and is catching up. Of course, we feel so blessed and thankful for our healthy baby boy. We also recently started him on solid foods. My pediatrican advised us to skip rice cereal and move straight to veggies, and then fruits. The first day we tried sweet potatoes and Jackson looked at me with quite the puzzled expression. However, after a week he got the hang of it. I would have to say sweet potatoes and apples are his favorite so far. He doesen't seem picky, but I know that can change! Just so in love with my baby boy. Enjoy the pics, it has been one busy few weeks!

Hope everyone is enjoying the rest of the summer as well! XO

Destination:Gigi and Pop's house

What do you get when you cross an airplane and a 11 week old baby? If you answered one nervous momma, you are right!
I was making my first trip since giving birth, with my new baby and it was just the two of us. Days before leaving I felt my anxiety increase. Something about being 35,000 feet in the air with my newborn just didn't seem fun! Nonethless, Jackson and I headed to St. Louis to see my parents and for the most part our trip was the way I like it-uneventful.
I had really organized and planned (um, maybe obsessesd is a better choice of words) how I was going to get through the airport with my baby and luggage. I ended up taking my car seat and my light weight snap and go stoller. It was definitley the way to go because after checking my bags I could store my diaper bag/purse beneath the car seat in the stroller basket which allowed me to get through security a little easier. However, let me tell you other traveling mommas, there is no way to get through security with a baby, unless you have some help. Thankfully there are still good, kind hearted people, because each way I had help through security, and it made it a much smoother expierence.
On the plane, Jackson did beautifully. He was just an angel, the man behind me even commented he didn't notice I had a baby on my lap when he stood up behind me. Also, on the way back to Maryland, the pilot welcomed baby Jackson over the speakers. I only encountered one rude person on the way to Saint Louis and you could tell he just wasn't a baby person. As soon as we sat down he said, "I hope that baby isn't going to cry". I was horrified and wanted to move, but decided I would tough it out and deal. I mean, really, what kind of a person says something like that to a young mother or anyone for that matter. Jackson was great and didn't make a peep, so I am glad I saved face in the end.
So for the most part our trip was smooth sailing and and we had a great time at my parents. Mom had everything set up and ready for Jackson we we arrived. He slept great in his pack in play and loved meeting some new friends, Charlie and Sarah Grace.
Charlie is Kathryn's son, who also went to Ole Miss. Sarah Grace belongs to my dear friend Sarah who I have known since birth. Who knew that 27 years later we would be getting our babies together. It was pretty cool to see them together.
Now that we have made this trip, I hope my anxiety won't be as severe for future trips. After all, this is just the begining of a lot of travel since family and friends are all over this great country.
Anyways, speaking of, today is America's birthday, and Jackson's 3 month birthday.
Here is what he is up to:
- drinks 5-6 ounces from his bottle
- "talking" making lots of sounds
- still loving his gym (kicking and moving his arms a ton)
- laughing occassionally
- smiling tons
- sleeps 7-8 hours at night (woo-hoo)
- recognizes our voices
- follows people and voices with his eyes
- still loves bath time

Happy 4th of July, hope everyone enjoyed the day!!!!

2 months old already!!!!!

So my angel is 2 months old today- where do the days go? Time sure has been flying probably because Jackson and I have been busy bees. We have had lots of vistors and been on the go a lot. My parents came in for Memorial Day and just couldn't believe how much he had changed. The last time they saw him he was only 9 days old. They were also such a great help. They took a lot of the harder late night and early morning shifts. Who knew that 7 hours of solid sleep could truly feel that good. I actually dreamed and that hadn't happend in awhile. It was not exactly a good dream, but hey I am not complaing! We had a wonderful time and I felt so blessed to have them with us. As everyone knows it is hard for me to have to be so far from my family and some of my closest friends. On a better note,Jackson does great in his car seat and really doesn't seem to mind running errands with his momma. Oh, and he has been loving walks in the park. So Eddie and I decided to take him there for a little 2 month celebration and have some quiet family time in the park. It was a gorgeous day and great to have some time together. Eddie has been so busy with work lately, and I don't see things slowing down for him anytime soon.
Anyways, here are some updates on what Baby Jackson is doing and loving at 2 months.
-Drinking 4-5 ounces from the bottle
-Pulls my hair while drinking his bottle
-Kicks objects hanging from his play gym
-Smiles are getting bigger and better
- Moves his arms and legs a lot (We have a vigourous baby boy)

Loves:
-To Stare at bright lights
-Bath time and getting lotion put on
-Play in his gym
-To be moving (anything that moves he loves)

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Summer!!!!
