6 weeks old yesterday!!!!

Wow! Jackson is 6 weeks old and things have truly been a whirlwind, and we are loving every minute. Whether we are bathing him or he is spitting up across the room we just can't help but adore him!

I am trying to record all of his milestones and this is my first list!

At six weeks you can......

focus on a face

lift your head and chest during tummy time

hold head steady when upright (strong little 6 week old)

bring both of your hands together

smile spontaneously (my absolute favorite thing)

grip a finger during feeding time

make lots of cooing sounds ( I think we might have a talker on our hands)

focus on objects during tummy time

Hope everyone has a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

Love,

Alaina

A love like no other!

So I am officially two things, a mom and a horrible blogger. I cannot believe it has taken me this long to post about one of the most important moments of my life. However, all my mommy friends can atest this is the busiest job ever. Not to mention one of the most rewarding.
Anyways, Jackson Kyle Morgan finally entered this world on April 4, 2011 at 10:58pm. The doctors were right he was on the smaller side. He weighed in at 5 pounds, 7 ounces. After 14 hours of labor, I ended up having to have a c-cection because baby J was sunny side up and not planning on leaving his cozy place in the womb. After Jackson was out and we heard his first cry, Eddie and I were overhwelmed with love and joy. The doctors probably thought I was nuts because while they were stitching me up, I kept shouting out, "How much does he weigh?" From the minute I became a mom, I started caring alot less about myself and all about this baby. I guess that is how it is supposed to work.
Jackson was born small for 39 weeks, and we will never fully no why. The doctor said my placenta looked okay, but his cord was on the smaller side. So who knows if was just a smaller baby or if there was something going on, but as you can see from the pics he is growing and changing so quickly. Oh, and he has sure stolen our hearts! We feel so grateful God gave us this precious miracle, it truly is a love like no other and I cannot wait to share more pics and stories as Eddie and I embark on the crazy journey of parenthood!
Thanks for checking in, Jackson will be 6 weeks on Monday and I plan on having updates! So check back in when you can!
Hope everyone is well!
XOXO,
Alaina
